The Fulbright NEXUS Program
The Fulbright Regional Network for Applied Research (NEXUS) Program offers young scholars, professionals, and mid-career researchers from across the Western Hemisphere a unique opportunity.  Up to 15 ambitious, young innovators and change-makers, participate in three one-week seminars and a two-month exchange over an outstanding year-long program that will focus on one principal theme of shared importance to all countries in the hemisphere: climate change.   Through this program, NEXUS scholars will have a chance to collaborate with leaders in their field, connect with stakeholders, and see their ideas implemented and brought to market.

US Internship Tour - Washington DC

Apply today to participate in an internship tour in the USA. Meet UAlberta alumni and make invaluable industry connections in Washington, DC. This is your opportunity to get your career off on the right track by gaining insight into career opportunities and the working environment in this competitive, world-class city, and by learning how to apply for internships in the political arena.

Tour Dates:
October 7 - 13, 2012: Tour led by Dr. Greg Anderson 


Open to undergraduate and graduate students in all academic disciplines who can credibly show a career interest in politics, international relations, public life, and governance.

Selection Process

Eight spots are available for the internship tour. Only complete applications will be considered by the Selection Committee. Late application will not be reviewed. Selection will be based on the quality of the application package, specifically the caliber of the letter of rationale, GPA, and letters of reference.

+ Nomination Fee $100
+ Airfare $700 estimated
+ Accommodation $800 estimated (based on double occupancy)
+ Food Expenses $300
+ Ground Transportation $100 
-  Funding Package $1,000 (all selected participants will receive this)
= Total $1,150 (exclusive of individual discretionary expenses)
